Slight HP from the M102 four cylinder

Hey,

I'd like some extra power from my 2.0 190E having graduated from University now, as I have decided not to buy another car until I have a job!

I don't want a lot (no turbo/supercharger) but as it's a strong torquey unit that revs well, I feel with some light work you could make it pull a little harder as it revs, ideally without sacrificing the torque. It doesn't have many miles so could stand it fine I would guess.

Additionally, it needs valve stem seals doing so will be coming apart soon anyway - anything I could do whilst it's apart?
Anything that could be done with machining?

Could I do things without having to get too involved in K-Jetronic tuning etc etc? I have access to a well equipped workshop and knowledgeable people, and I'd rather not swap the engine for a 6 (looked into that) or 16v (might as well buy a whole 16v).

cheers!

Russ

P.S. I don't have the octane selector dial and can't find a resistor for it so I'm ruling that out

Wink

Of course the best way to increase HP is to enlarge engine to 2.3 liter & slightly raise compression. That would give an increase of at least 10HP.
