My 87 300E is very bouncy on the freeway and around town. I didn't really notice it until after I started driving it again, after parking the TE for a while. I have upgraded the suspension with H&R springs and two bump or one bump pads, sportline swaybars and Bilsteins HDs all around also. The last thing I did was install new Thrust Arms since they were worn(bushings)pretty badly. This thing bounces like crazy this can't be normal. What did I screw up?

The bilstein hd's are the problem I think.

If you lower the car you should use the sport shocks which are intended for se on lowered cars.

This is only what I have read. I think the hd's are being compressed a bit because of the springs in your car, so they are hitting the bouncier part of the shock which is normally intended for more travel of the shock before it gets to that point.

I am not a tech, so you are only reading what I think makes sense to me, and based on my readings of this forum and other sites.

with stock shocks my car is a bit bouncy as well, but not much bouncier than before I changed my springs.

If you check out the info on the bilsteins at various sites that sell them for the Car, you will notice it says the sports are to be used with lowered cars.

I believe the sport shocks are slightly shorter than the hd's. Your ride should be firm, but not bouncy.
