One way to do it just for testing purposes is to ground the diagnostic pin that goes to the computer. It is in the breakout mushroom connector under the hood. If I had an ETM here, I would give you a pin #.

I have done this in the shop for dyno work. It puts the computer into a limp mode so the ASR does not operate.

Do a Search, but I believe you jump pins #1 & 6 on the CAN computer.

Heck, I'll show you in a few weeks

Roald,

I see that you have changed the rims; very good choice!!!

Where did you get the rims...I am considering the same rims for my C250D for next year season.

you have to put a "" after the url (without the quotation marks, of course) to make it work.

Also, you might want to try something other than Photopoint cause it's always down. www.imagestation.com works for me!

Hope that helps!

Okay....I see you used imagestation. but what you need to do now is this. Go to the page that shows your picture. right click on the picture. choose properties or copy shortcut. paste the link and put "" on either end. the url will end with .jpg.orig.jpg. take out the last .orig.jpg otherwise the picture might be too big. you should be all set.

Rainmaker,
I only have the wheels for a few days , thats the only thing I have changed.

But i saw you have a ASR defeat switch I want one too but I think its a litllebit expensive and I think only Renntech sel them

About your Sub where did you put it .
I have a JL audio 15w6 but I think the feul tank will kill the noise!

Have you got any pictures of the install?

Thanks

P.S. I will facelift my car this week

Roald,

The install was delayed a bit as I was trying to chase away some electrical gremlins that seem to pop up in these cars every once in a while.

My bushings just arrived today so that will have to be done first. Then later this week I should be finishing up the rest of the facelift (well, that depends if Michael Curcio is able to locate a set of Euro E500 lights at a decent price, then it would have to wait a couple of weeks). The ASR defeat switch and the 1st gear start mod should be installed at this time as well.

Then the sound system should be installed right after. Although it isn't final yet, barring any unforeseen difficulties, I'm planning to build a box that goes right in the recess in the rear parcel shelf. Although that won't allow me to fold down the rear headrests anymore, it's an acceptable tradeoff in order to get proper bass with a single 10 inch sub. That also frees up a switch location on the dash for either the ASR defeat switch or an auxiliary lamp switch (I was planning to swap out the fog lamps for driving lamps and would need to be able to control that independently of the other lights...well, I'll resort to that if I can't get Euro E500 lights and go with regular Euro 124 lights instead....)

Rainmaker,

About those euro headlights.
I just ordered some new glasses and the only difference they told me that the inside plastic is chrome (500E,E500) and grey for the other W124 headlights.
So maybe if you get some normal euro W124 headlights you can order the glasses seperatly for the E500.
they told me that there is no difference in the headlight unit!

It is a perfect copy of the OEM MB 5-spoke styling F rim as well which is sold as a 8Jx17 ET37 rim (B6 6 47 0703).

These rims in 18" would be a nice alternative for the expensive silver arrow rims I want for my SL (next year)...I have to look into the price of that replica...What brand is it (mail me or better, I will mail you)?

greetingz,
