Cool Will this engine swap work???

I'm looking for any advice on this opportunity I'm considering. I have a 1999 CLK 320 and want to swap out the engine with an available 2002 CLK 55 AMG. Has anyone done this? I have a complete 2002 CLK 55 AMG, so I have all cooling, exhaust, computer & harness if necessary. Please help!

Oh that would never work at all. Not even a remote chance. That would be like trying to install the engine from the Queen Mary. Best to just pack that 2002 up ship it straight to CT where it's power train will flourish with new life.

OK I just did some research. It's a 2002 with no supercharger. It will fit just fine.

This will require a great deal of work. The shifter on the 2002 is different than the 1999. I do not know for sure how much of the interior harness will have to come with it. The engine, transmission, ignition, and traction, for sure will have to be repl.

Well as Roncallo said, it will work, lots will need to be swapped but they are the same car after all, both been W208. I assume the 2002 has unrepairable rearend dmg or something? the 55 M113 is one hell of a good engine

That would be about the size of it if you wanted to stay with the MB electronics. It will physically fit just great but it would be an electronic nightmare. See my thread on M120 into 560SL. Go to the post labeled in wiring hell. My suggestion would be to use aftermarket stuff. Better suggestion would be not to do this at all because it wont be worth the effort.
