New Voltage Regulator, now no power?

I changed the voltage regulator in my 16V, now the car drives like a dog. The battery isn't very good, there's a dead cell... Would this effect the way the car accelerates? Please help, thanks!

Yeah, I got the car started with the bad battery and took it over to my mechanic... The car's alternator is working fine, but the car's a pig, I guess a good battery is needed even when the engine is running...

battery is just to start the car .. what does the 16v volt gauge telling you , it should be at 14v and not jumping around when you turn on the lights and heater

you just forgot to check the ground pin in the alt, redo it and make sure everything is making good contact

The electrical system is working well now... The car was running poorly due to bad gas, and stupid me put in regular! Bad mistake, very bad... But all the fuel gremlins caught up when i put in the new regulator, which I thought funny. But it seems good now... Thanks guys.
