Similar ? C280 W202 V6 / C43 W202 V8 / E430 W210 V8 / E55 W210 V8

I dug around a bit but ended up not getting much info.

The 98 and up C280 came with a new generation V6 and the AMG version was a C43 V8 based ( near as I can tell ) on the E430 V8. Is the V6 and V8 built from the same family of parts?

Is the E55 V8 based on the E430 engine? Was the E55 motor used anywhere else? ( GL? )

If the C280 V6 is similar to the E55, I can picture a E55 motor in a C280 body. . . .

Thanks

The engines in question are all either 112 or 113. Shouldn't be much hassle to swap between any of them.

FWIW, ML, S, and CLK were also offered as a "55"

If you're gonna go all out might as well swap in a 55 Kompressor engine. Who cares if the hood doesnt close?

Thanks, While I don't need another project, ( but am always looking ) I know where a body damaged E55 W210 is sitting. . . . The ~ 3,900 LB E55 gives 4.9 0-60 and 13.3 sec 1/4 mile times , I'd expect the ~ 3,400 LB C to speedier. . .

C43 to 5.4L n/a swap is somewhat common.

This.

A few friends locally have done this swap - and it's straight forward. The biggest hurdle one of them hit was a "lean trim fuel" code. IIRC, he has some coding done at the dealer (like 1 hour of labor) and all was good.
