what chip should i get for the 500E? JimF?
Okay, so i've only heard of two chips for a 500E, one is made by a member at benzsport and i think he checks here too, Neil with the TE AMG and 500E, and a power+chip that JimF sells. Which should i get, anyone had experience with either or know which is better? Or do you know of another chip?
What kind of power boosts am i expected to get from the chips on my 500E? Thanks!

Heh. I literally just today installed Neil's chip in my 500E.
Mirroring what I reported to him by mail, it went smoothly. Good instructions with photos. Car starts instantly, idles smoothly -- Neil notes that some cars need to adapt and will show an ASR light at first, but I didn't experience that. Midrange tip-of-the-toe throttle response is definitely stronger, as is wide-open-throttle acceleration. No detonation noted on 91-octane California dishwater fuel. The car is otherwise bone stock, no intake, no exhaust mods (yet), and by report, most chips for the 500E respond strongly to opening up the breathing. Will bulletin the boards as I gain further experience with Neil's device. s/b

My understanding is that the stock airbox is good for nearly a 6 litre motor...and a displacemetn increase (or forced induction) is realistically the only way to get a worthwhile bump in power out of an M119
