Here she is...pics of the new RR
It's a late 97 Range Rover 4.6 HSE Vitesse ("Tonka"). Got her a couple of weeks ago. I think the yellow piping in the seats is just awesome! I've already replaced the wheels with the newer style wheels.
I know it's not a hot rod but does the job as a daily driver real well! Just sold my truck recently (a 97 Expedition, "Orca") so I needed another daily driver. I've racked up close to 2000 mi. on the 500E in the close to 1 year I've owned her. I want to keep it at that for years to come. She's now got 68K km (42.5K mi.) and is now relegated to weekend use. On the other hand, I've put on just about 1300 mi. on the Range in just 3 weeks...which included a couple of out of town trips. The Range Rover was in such pristine condition and was on some sort of a firesale. The owner wanted $10K less than market for a quick sale. Low miles (7,300 when I got it) was primarily due to the owner getting stares because of the color. Works for me! Was in the right place at the right time, I guess... All she needs is: - A new exhaust - New set of front airsprings - will probably wrap the headliner and pillars in alcantara (the autobiography editions offered them (similar to MB's designo editions)...just have to find the right color to match). The RRs are known to have their headliners sag in tropical weather so no sense in getting OEM ones. There's this local company owned and run by this German guy who does all local content interiors for MBs and BMWs as well as other makes. - will probably add an RPI Engineering chip sooner or later. - will get her Konis on all 4 corners when the time comes to replace the shocks. Without further ado, here she is... Cheers!

range rover
Hey,
Is that the camel trophy color? www.roverparts.com is Atlantic British 800-533-2210 518-664-6169 Fax: 518-664-6641 ab@roverparts.com I usually order from lester. Since you are from Asia, there might be a better place to get them over there. Did you buy 20" momo wheels? Which did you buy? =) Its good to keep the miles low on the 500E, but don't not drive it. Mercedes love to be driven. See you later, Austin |

looks gorgeous! enjoy it as much as you can now. i've had both the RR LWB and the Disco and both were very expensive to maintain. i do miss them both, especially the LWB, but my pocketbook is much happier now.

Gorgeous color...
and rare because I've never seen one that color in the US or the UK.
And with such low miles! btw, pls. see the pics posted below: http://hobbystage.net/porsche/jwkc/ The guy that posted it showed his location as Makati. Although I was born and spent some childhood years there in the Phils., I have not been back and am blown away by these pics. Are cars of this level a common interest from guys there? I have heard and you've posted that tax rates basically double the price of these cars and am just pleasantly surprised, is all. |
