M103 maximum cylinder head surfacing?
What is the allowed tolerance measurement for re-surfacing a m103 cylinder head?
Just got my head back from the machine shop and they said there was no warpage although according to my receipt paperwork they shaved off. 005" which is 0.127mm. |

Just got home and checked my Haynes manual and it says total thickness of metal removed from head and block mating surfaces combined must not exceed 0.5mm so I think I'm good. 😬

@ .005" don't loose .0000005 second of sleep...you are good to go! That was just a clean up for good measure. I'd suggest a genuine MBZ head gasket.
Good luck!!!

My 104.980 is milled 0.031" below minimum spec
![]() As long as you correct cam timing and ensure piston to valve clearance, you can cut a ****load off.
