What are some common ways that people afford to buy a Mercedes-Benz?

I have always dreamt of owning a stylish car, such as the SL, but the high maintenance and repair expenses often seem daunting. How do people who make less than $200,000 annually afford such vehicles?

While buying an older used car that has depreciated in value is a feasible option, the cost of owning an older car may be challenging. Is there a specific rule of thumb such as not owning a car beyond a certain mileage or is there any type of car repair insurance available to help with this cost? Do people typically need to have a high income to afford such cars?

Thank you!
