300E Turbo question
Hey, i know theres a whole article on this, but i just wanna know can I turbo my car without getting a Mosselman 8k turbo. I just want to be faster, not crazy fast (well i do, but i don't have 8k). So if someone could tell me what turbo i could use, and if anyone has any links and esimates it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you |

Turbo 300E
Follows Adams thread. It is long but we have posted a lot of info on turboing a 300E M103 engine. Parts estimates are between $1500-2000. You can use your stock manifolds and plumb them into the new turbo. If you could find a muffler shop to help you they would probably charge about $500-800 for the piping and fabrication. Around the end of this year I will be doing a customers 300E and if enough interest is generated I will duplicate the parts.
Recommended Turbos: TO4E/T3 Hybrid Mitsubishi TD05 (85-89 Stairon Intercooled) You may want to run a Clipped Turbine Wheel so boost comes in later. Great for Auto trans. Good for an average 275-350 HP You may also consider a Water to Air intercooler. GOOD LUCK

Turbo 300E
You may want to go with a new turbo. Saves a lot of headaches.
Best you go with the TO4E with the internal wastegate. should cost about $600. 450 + the internal WG parts. Only use the mitsu turbo if you want quick boost. It is a real burner/kicker off the line. The To4E will have good mid-top end. 140k on the odo is nothing. I have turboed cars with higher milage than that. just keep in mind to keep the boost under 10 psi. it is easy to make a adjustable boost controller for the mitsu TD05. |
