Nology Hotwires - Feedback please???

I was thinking of checking these out, but wanted to check with mercedesshop and benzsport forum "seasoned pros" and see what they thought-

I was reading some magazine quotes from the website, and wanted to paste a few snippets here because it may be interesting to those with emissions problems, idling rough, and also problems after putting on other performance parts-

"Our conclusion is that the stock plugs and wires are incapable of igniting the larger mixtures that result from the addition of "breathing enhancers" such as the Powerstack intake and Borla exhaust. Our data indicates that an ignition upgrade such as that provided by the Nology Hotwires and Beru Silverstone plugs corrects such a deficiency, allowing other modifications to work effectively."

Unfortunately, I had to get my car inspected in the meantime, which includes emissions output testing here in New Jersey. On my first attempt, the 164 was promptly failed with a hydrocarbon output of 356 ppm. Doing nothing other than installing the HotWires, I returned to the inspection station the following day and promptly passed with a reading of 173 ppm; a reduction of over 50%! Frankly, this is still too high, but the known problem will be attended to shortly. However, I feel this helped to demonstrate that the Nology wires were, in fact, enabling the generation of cleaner and more efficient power (also evidenced by my 5% increase in fuel mileage).

I have sold Nology wires since they started. The product works in some cars. Not all cars will have the same results. Turbo and NOS cars seem to work the best. Cars running rich also seem to benefit.

Also Nology is now cheating by using resistor core wire which does work but doesn't last. The original wires were solid core with the resistor at the distributior cap end. The resistor core wires break down from the stress of the high voltage. Also the Silicone jacket breaks down from the high voltage. I told them how to correct this many times, but they don't listen.

My opinion at this time is that make sure if you buy the wires to keep your old ones as backup.

If you have problems(misfire) because the OE wires are shot, then Nology wires will help. BUT if the car is running fine then those wires won't do anything for your engine. They will subtract $$$ from your wallet.
