Carbon Fiber Hood/C-class grill conversion group buy

We have been arranging this on the 190 Revolution Forum with Thomas from Feather Carbon . I know that some of you guys on here have some nice 16V's and don't come over to the 190 Forum. So I'm letting you all in on what the plans are. Run.exe just got his carbon fiber 500E airboxes from Thomas, so we have all agreed that Thomas is the man for this project. Please go on over to the 190 Forum and look under Aesthetic section, carbon fiber hood thread. There has been so much going on, that it would take too long for me to sort through it all and copy it over here. So if you are interested come check it out. We are basically having this hood manufactured in carbon fiber with a c-class(W202) grill conversion for the 190. Hood vents are optional.

The hood will only weight approximately 10lbs, so big improvement for you guys that race your 190's. Who knows if this will ever be available again, so show interest now and get in on this deal. Please check out the thread in 190 Forum before you ask questions, because there is a lot of information there.

Thanks,
Giancarlo

I talked to Thomas abt a custom Yellow CF hood for my car a while ago...but I just don't have an extra hood to spare, unless there are enough people that want to do it...Oh well..
Nice job guys...It'll look Phat...I want a 190 so badly

Greetings,

Oh yeah, while you guys are at it. Why don't you mold the grill frame to the hood, this way you guys will have a nice clean cut look..then later you can add a Mesh grill in the center Something different, and nice

I just registered to get in on the buy. But, I only like the stock look. I am not a fan of that big star in the grille.

Albert:

The grill frame is being molded into the hood, so it will look exactly like a stock W202 setup.

Benzmac:

Great!!! I'm glad you signed up. Right now, the group buy is only for the carbon fiber hood. After, you can put in any type of grill that you would like. I don't like the grill star either, so I'll probably find whatever I can at a junkyard and have it painted black to match my car.

That's a nice looking 190, I always thought it would be a good idea to put vents in the hood of the 190e since it gets so hot in there, well at least in mine anyway.

Too bad I can't afford this now, but I am thinking about painting my grill red like the AMG cars.

vanakin: What AMG 190's had a red grill? Are you thinking of a DTM car?

c280: Sorry, the carbon fiber hood is for the 190. We are getting a W202 grill molded into our 190 hood.

Later,
Giancarlo

lol I know that, but if you look at the pic that you posted with the c-klasse grille, there is also the additional metal grill that sits in the hood...I was saying, mod that grill to the c-klasse hood that would look PHAT and unique if you got what I mean

Hello Giancarlo, I was actually referring to an AMG hammer 300e. Here's a link from one of my favorite sites.

Benzmac, price was quoted at a little less than or exactly $600.

EXTREME: I still don't get what you are talking about. LOL
