From "Mushy/Soft" ride to Fantastic

Thought I'd move this post to "Performance" rather than "SL". My 78 450sl felt "Mushy/Soft" in the ride feel. I replaced the old coil spings to factory originals, no differance. I ordered "Bilstein "HD" front and rear shocks. I installed the front shocks and took a test drive..............What a differance ! Firm steering ,no "floating" just what I felt this car should feel like . Then I installed the rear "HD" shocks (from a "SEL") felt allittle "stiff", probably why "Bistein" sells "Comfort" for the rear. Hope this helps some of you deciding what shocks to buy. Good luck Dave
