E500/500E owners, how many times do you press the Perma-Grin button?

Just wondering what the healthy recommended daily dosage is?

I try to press the fun button approx. 7-to 10 times a week only, that's about 2 to 3 times per drive (Week-end use only), mainly on the hwy to ruin someone's day.

No seriously, I figure anything this good has to cause a lot of wear to the Engine/transmission.

Is there some sort of recommendation about using the 500E's maximum power? All the time? Once a year?

How often do you press it on yours?

Hmmmm......kickdown switch.

The kickdown is equivalent to a major adrenaline drug to me........I hit it once and can't get enough of it. I remember when I could get into a car and go for a relaxing drive. Now when I get into my car my heart pounds to the point where I can feel it throughout my body. I get sweaty and I find that if I don't control myself I'll get into way too much trouble.....like a drug. (Take a look at the Cover of Automobile Magazine)

I try to use mine when prudent......or when some unsuspecting sole thinks they can cut me off .......god I'm sure some of those people just get pissed to know end knowing a Benz just blew them away!

I'd guess that our cars were designed to handle that kind of power considering this drivetrain was sourced from a heavier car. The engine I believe is indestructable considering it was used in conjunction with twin turbos to create 1200Hp. I think we're well within it's limits. I think the items that really suffer with this hard driving are the brakes, tires and flex discs. I'd be curious to hear everyone elses response as well. Am I overdosing on this drug?

Huh? Dosage? I think mine's stuck on!

If I didn't want to go fast, I use the other car
