Ouch! I believe Keith Martin would refer to those cars as "fright pigs"

Amazing

The ad states "We can build this conversion on a Mustang chassis that you supply for a total cost of $15,900.00."

So, add another $5-7K for the Mustang and you have a POS that nobody wants?

90-91 SL's in decent shape are only a few $$$ more than this fake!

O. K. I have my composure now!!

Proud owner: "Hey, want to ride in my SL500?
Unsuspecting person: "Sure"

PO: "Purty ain't it"?
UP: "Fer shore"!

UP opens door and sits down, "wow, where'd you get the Mustang seats, dash, console and door panels from"?

PO: "I had them custom installed"!!

UP: "Fer out dude"!

That is the worst conversion I have seen.

Why waste the money to turn a pos mustang into a benz lookalike. The interior is the worst part. so crappy in comparison. Not to mention the rear sits way to low on those cars. and that yellow one parked next tot he real one, I could tell the difference immediately.

It's like wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna signature suit over dirty underwear... yes, my comment is as stupid as the conversion itself

.......couldn't tell......is there an AMG badge on the trunk? May as well get one of those tossed in as well.

Then you'd have a Ford SL500 AMG. A very unique car indeed!

p.s. -fad, are you still looking at adding a CLK to your collection?

oh the ugliness!! I mean really, if you are gonna bastardize a car, at least do something exotic , http://www.v8archie.com/steenson.htm . I guess these people sprouted from a vile swamp, because they don't seem to be able to tell the difference between american cloth and plastic and teutonic wood and leather... disgusting....

What crap! Again, why spend $20+thousand on that piecer of crap when you can get the real thing for the same amt. of money? I think people believe the myth that MBs cost much more than other cars to maintain. My 500E doesn't cost much more to maintain than my 87 Acura Legend.
Saw a Porsche Speedster replica yesterday. Terrible interior, body was not to scale.
What a waste of money!!

Wasted $20K plus having someone caught you driving an imitator. How embarassing!! Any SL owner will spot it dead on it is a fake. No toe in for the front wheels
