Shimmy felt in steering under braking 55 mph
Ok any of you guys run into this problem. all of a sudden the other day. i'm going down hill braking about 45-55 mph. Big shimmy in my steering wheel. But not in my brake pedaL. I stick my head out as i am braking i see the whole LF wheel doing this kind of dance. Tripped me out. i had it on the rack. Change the steering shock for the hell of it. My brake discs. Are a few months old. I No longer of have brembo cross drilled. I warped those last time @ willow srpings. So I have OEM on there. I have new tie rod assemblys I have new centerlink idler arm. I inspected the lower control arm busings they look ok a little rusty but seem ok.
Is this bushing its hard to tell if there bad or not. Does anyone make lower control arm bushing in poly urethane Niel ??? Micheal, hendy. I want to resolve this befroe I get the big brakes done. Let me know guys See ya Guido.

have you checked your wheel bearings lately? I had a little problem like that and I changed the bearings and it was solved. It could be a bushing though.

I'd suspect to some degree its caused the wheel bearings- - as you know large wheels/ tires offer upgraded stress as well
let us know what it sources to when you find out best regards -fad |

Your problem could also be bad front sway bar mounts or bushings.

Bearings are my 1st guess (I've cooked 1 set so far); then lower control arms. I'd think that if you could send an OE set out to www.energysuspension.com they just might be able to match something up.
Lastly, on a longshot, what about the upper strut mounts?

chatter and shakes
Hi guys. Well I check my front wheel bearings/no excessive play, not burning, suffcient lubrication/from the grease plent of it. Grease was not over cook. It will change its texture when its burned. I examined the disc, there black and blue,I didnt check run out on them. I think its a combination of the bushing and balljoints togther. I am going tp replce. Both lower control arms.
That way they come with new ball joints and bushings. I want to get this squared away. Befroe I get my new brakes. See ya guys thanks for the inputs. Guid

While do my new brake set up today. I found the cuprit.
The LF spindle is bent. not the actual shaft but the wheel carrier. I was spining my new 14.1 inch brake discs. Sure enough not true @ all. So off course its not funny. so now i can't even test my new brakes. But my does the pedal feel great. I have to properly burn them in.

Well latest update. The LF wheel hub. Was ok./ It was my old rotors that were warped. I did a little experimet. With the Lf tire off. I installed short lug bolts/torqued down to the new disc. spun the disc. Perfect. It was really misleading with the new brake disc on the hub assembly, even with the set screw in place look out of round. Well all is good. Going to return the new hub and bearing assembly. so instead of a additional $155.00 more. Its nothing.
So just remember, the only time you will feel a front warped disc is in the steering, underbraking it was not felt, but if you have warped rear discs, you will feel it in the brake pedal due to brake bias. I know it sound nuts but its true.
