Mercedes 300E performance chip on ebay!

Hello Board,

There is a seller on ebay claiming to have a performance ECU.
Could it be true?? He claims an added 17hp, I am a little skeptical though. Is this a joke???

Here's the link to the "Performance Chip"

2 things..

1). Why don't you ask the seller for more information.

2). Why don't you do a little, not a lot, but a little research on your own. Start by looking at http://www.jetchip.com

Shanta, while I think your suggestions are valid, you left out "Do a Search" since there are at least 4 threads that discuss Jetchip.

It wouldn't fit your car anyway bro.

It is for a 1990 300E

You sure about that Pat? Looks like a M104 ECU not a M103 ECU.

Don't all the W124/W201 M103 ECU's look like this?

Let me restate what I was trying to say.

It would "fit" in the designated spot for the KE control unit.

However, it wouldn't operate properly.

You missed my point Pat, the 1990 300E ECU looks like the one posted in my previous post, the one in the auction looks completely different, like a M104 ECU. Am I correct or am I smokin crack?

It looks similar in appearance to the M104 KE control unit.

The BOSCH KE (CIS-E) units do differ in appearance a little from 90-up. Some have the smooth outer case & the others are have the raised "squares".

Ok, just wanted to clarify that issue.

The W201 uses the same ECU design up through the 1993 model year. I also have a W124 ECU from a 1989 vehicle and its the same as what I posted.

I think the big deal is with type of fuel pump relay Mas control or the kpr/ kickdown type.
