Well, since I'm the one that started the "500E Owner Roll Call" listing, I figured I should offer up my place for a get together.

How's the 2nd or 3rd weekend in September? It will have to be a Saturday, either the 14th or 21st. My deck & grille are open for burgers & dogs (& good European beer) & bench-racing.

Let me know; only those serious about attending please respond (and if you own a 500E, don't even THINK about showing up in your TE or SUV

)

Try a Mapquest search-it told me 346 miles. I've done it in a bit less than 5 hours (I won't say how much less

I'll also invite the German photog up again from NYC...he was so very happy at Paul's S-fest that he almost missed his bus back!!!

Hi Mike-
The 14th doesnt work for me- but the 21st is ok- or the 28th
I also offer my place if that works better for some of those further south. Besides, you need to come down and pick up your tools!
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we could retire to our home theater and watch some racing flicks etc to go along with the bench racing!

I'M in!

Will be in Newport for the 7th so either the 14th or 21st works for me. Had a post-op complication arise a week ago putting me on some weird drug that delays reaction time. Hopefully, I will be back behind the wheel by then because my SO doesnt like driving the beast.

When you have the date cemented, let me know.

Awlright, I've cemented the date for the 21st of September. Once I can get a better count as to # of attendees, I'll firm up more details.

And, Dave, however much will fit in your trunk is fine

Okay, 500E folks, here’s the deal that Tackman and I came up with. We’re gonna do this gathering at his place in Redding, CT; it'll save on seat time for many of our southern guests coming up from PA, DC, even VA

500E/E500 owners must show in their respective rides; no garage queens

MercedesShop and other invited guests are welcome; however, expect to present to our Host, Herr Tackman, with proper libations in hand or you might not gain admittance. There's a home theatre on-site, so if ya got car flicks, bring 'em.

Party starts at noon-ish. Grille will be open for burgers and dogs throughout. We’re considering doing a quasi-tech session-suggestions welcome. For example, I’m trying to get Farrukh to change out my rear spring pads, so there’s my suggestion. Farrukh?

Any other thoughts or ideas encouraged. Also, looking for a name for this event...perhaps 500E Roll Call 2002? 500Efest 2002?

See you on the 21st
