Is it possible to upgrade my TE?

What would it take to upgrade my TE to a 3.6, besides the bore job? Is it feasible? I love the TE and wouldn't mind a few more ponies,,, but have no idea what all the differences are.

I think if you get the C36's engine computer and engine, they would drop right in place of the 3.2L M104

Find a used 1995-1996 C36 engine with computers, wiring harness, and preferably tranny and diff. These will bolt-up.

You will need changes mostly in the A/C fittings/hoses, unless you can make your wagon's A/C pump bolt-up (I could not).

Keep your ABS. Also, you'll need to disable ASR unless your wagon came with it (ASR stock on C36).

Good luck,

:-) neil

Thanks a lot everyone. Will start a search for what I need. Sounds like a neat project to keep me busy and take care of any discretionary income.

You'll also need to swap-over the combo powersteering/self-levelling pump.

It is penny-wise and pound-foolish NOT to replace the cylinder-headgasket and front timing seal while the engine is OUT.

You may also want to check the plastic timing-chain rails, and have a valve-job at the same time.

We have a 1995 300D 124 chasis wagon. were dropping the E55 engine with management system ,trans and diff. In this wagon. Were pulling out the 603 engine out of the wagon this weeked. This is going to be a sick project. Stay tuned.

Guido- where did they find a 1995 diesel W124 wagon ? MBUSA stopped importing diesel wagons in 1987.

Is it a 1995 W124 turbodiesel sedan?

Also, if the the W210 E55 was put back together, why are they going to dissassemble it for parts?

Does one person want the drivetrain, and the other the chassis/body?

Regardless, I would love to know more and see some pics.

I would really like to know if the W124's 722.3 tranny would bolt-up to a M113 V8.

My hypothesis:
the 1995-96 C36 with M104 6-cylinder was bolted to the 722.3 tranny
the 1997 C36 with M104 6-cylinder was bolted to the 722.6 tranny
the 1999 C43 with M113 8-cylinder was bolted to the 722.6 tranny

Thus, the 722.3 tranny can be used with M113 engines.

Can you verify the statement above?

Do yourselves a favor, get the AeroQuip EZ-Clip A/C hose kit and some 90-degree A/C elbows.

You'll most likely have to use the M113's A/C compressor and will need to fabricate custom A/C hoses.

Hey Neil. You were right the car is actually a 1987. We decided to scratch the Idea. My buddies picked up a 210 chasis wagon. were going to drop the 113 engine in it instead.

Everything will be a bolt on.
There going to part out that 1987 wagon.

Hey Neil. Did you ever repl your engine harness?
