Engine schematics/shop manual

Is there such a thing as an online MB engine schematics or perhaps a place a maintinance/shop manual can be bought? Went to the dealership thinking I could find one for my 500SL but the guy at the counter said that they don't have them and that he's never heard of them for Mercedes (sure

)
Would like to buy one localy instead of online.....hopefully I can find one. Is there a certain type/brand that would be a better choice than another?
I'm still trying to figure out my cold start/rough idle problem and a shop manual sure would help.
