oil pan gasket
Does the engine have to be pulled to change the oil pan gasket on a 1982 380 sl roadster? Thanks Kathy,

Yes, or the sub-frame dropped. There is just no clearance.
But why would you want to replace the pan gasket? I would try making sure all the bolts are tight first.

Pan gaskets do not contribute to oil leaks on those very much unless there is a lot of blow by...crankcase pressure build up.
Most leaks are from rear main crank seal....front cover...cam covers....oil drain plug..... Unless the car has been high-sided on a parking block or similar. .
