amg sl65

holy crap!!!! i was at the local benz dealership a few days ago and saw a guy pulling out in a black sl65. the paint was absolutely flawless and it had a pretty nice purr to it. very impressive car, and i am extremely jealous of him and anyone else who owns one.

They sound better when given the beans! At £150,000 they should do too!

i dont like the drive of the sl65 . my brother has one black on black. too much power for the suspension that car has. looks nice but at 202k i dont think so. i perfer my porsche 930's ride and power.i dont know about u guys , but i like to feel the road when iam going 100+mph. i am looking forward on racing him this comming weak when he comes back from london. 15 freeway down to san diego. then to mexico for a drink.

remember this is just my opinion.

I am an insurance agent, and I have a large base of clients, one of whom is a very largely Mercedes Benz supporter. He has many cars, including, but not limited to a 6.9, SL65, and las but not to say the least, Mercedes McLaren SLR. His daily driver is an E350, while all of the other cars are insured to be driven 3500 miles a year on collectors insurance. I have ridden in a few of his car, and I ,ust say he has a very very fine collection. The SL65 is a "garage queen" as she only has 1200 miles on her. His McMerc has rougly 750 miles on it, as he only ONLY drives it on the track. He does not even consider it to be roadworthy, as there are too many things that can happen to it. He had to take the SLR into the dealer to get the brakes checked, as it had a hard pull left upon braking. Truns out the right front caliper wasn't quite doing its job, and had failed under warranty.

He is a very cool guy. He lives in El Dorado Hills in a little community with mansions in it. Next time I am up there, I will take the camera and shoot some pix of the beast.

And last but not least, the SL65 is not a "handling" car, it is a cruising car. It is built to do 150 MPH all day long, without breaking a sweat. Yes, a Porsche will outhandle it, as it weighs half the mass, but the SL65 will keep you in comfort all day long, surrounding you with all of its luxury, power, and finesse.
