560sl MB tex or leather

Does anyone know if Mercedes put originally MB tex or leather on lid cover, rear pannels and door pannels?

Also how can I get the OEM color codes for carpet and leather?

The car is 1986 Mercedes 560sl.

Thanks,

Balsa

The door panels, lid cover, and any other "leather" you see that is not on the seat, steering wheel, or shift knob is MB-TEX.

Go to the dealer and ask them (service or parts) to run the VMI on your VIN.

The codes are on a plate on your radiator cross member. The paint code should appear twice on the left side of the plate. The paint and interior codes are three digits.

For example, my '88 560SL is black with palomino interior. My paint code is 040 and my interior code is 274. Leather interiors start with 2.

What colors do you think you have, because I have the upholstry and paint codes for I think 1983 and 1988.

MB Tex is on these components, But you can get leather replacements from.

If anyone has these leather replacement covers, I would like to here what they think.

Also Phil (Fast Lane click on Buy Parts above) offered me a pretty good deal on a complete after market interior. I expect to be looking into this further when my next car gets here. I havent asked him if he can get leather door pannels but I will shortly
