Unhappy 1994 SL320 Hardtop stuck??????

Greetings:

I tried to put the hard top back on my 94 SL320 but it wasn't on correctly. So, I tried to release botton and now it won't even release for me to remove to try to put back on.

Any ideas ??

The front of the roof and the centre lugs were no problem at all !!!

Thanks!!!

You should have a special top release tool which allows you to manually open or close the top.

Did you check the cars toolkit? It has a special tool in it that is meant to release the tops latches.

If you dont have it, I dont know if your local auto store will have it.

Did you have nay luck finding the tool? It's normally in a plastic bag along with the other tools in the tool kit, look by the spare tire.

Does you car have a manual? If so, the procedure for unlocking the latches is listed in the manual.

If you dont have the manual, let me see if I can dig up the thread on how to pop the locks.

Got it! As it turns out, I had the lever locked. Once I unlocked the locks and pulled the lever, Wham, it released!

Thanks for all your assistance.
