O2 sensor for 1988 560SL
Hi, I'm new to this forum but I am finding the information here extreemly useful. Lately my idle is rough once the engine is warmed up and my gas milage is terrible. My thinking is to replace the O2 sensor. The price of an universal Bosch ( 15735) is ~$140. Is there a substitute for this model since the harness will need to be spliced anyway. Other Bosch universal three wire O2 sensors are in the $40 range. Thanks in advance for any replies.

You should be able to buy the universal for $80 and the OEM for about $100 - $110. I just replaced mine for $68 including shipping on a special I found on the net. Do a little googling on 15735 + bosch and you should be able to find something well below $140. I do not know about $40 though.

Do yourself a favor, option 2:
Go to your local Advance Auto Parts or Autozone, pay 39.98 for a 1990 Mustang 3-wire sensor, spend 15 minutes splicing the 560's connector to it. Works perfectly in my car.
