Can anyone tell me where I can get the correct wheel offset for my 96 SL500. If you already know it, please reply.

Thanks

My 1999 Owner's manual says 34MM Frt. & Rear W/17" Std. Rims.
25MM Frt. W 18" AMG rims.
23MM Rear W/ 18" AMG Rims

1996 Owners Manual pg. 140 states:

255/55ZR16 offset 34 mm with 8Jx16" rims

with AMG

245/40ZR18 offset 31 mm with 8Jx18" rims
275/35ZR18 offset 35 mm with 9Kx18" rims

Actually lynns, the figures you posted are from the reprinted owner's manual and they are incorrect. The correct offsets are 23 and 25mm, as posted by jaybro. AMG wheels were not even offered in MY1996...

The information that I posted came from the STAR Classic Service Manual Library Model 129 DVD that I purchased from MB. The 1996.pdf is entitled "1996 SL Operator's Manual" with a total of 161 pages. I did notice that I had posted page 140 it should have been page 142. See attached PDF screenshot.

Note: I searched the 1990-1999.pdf's and was unable to find a p/n. I was only able to find a p/n for the 2000-2002 Operator's Manuals. My 2000 manual also says 25 mm front and 23 mm back with AMG. See attached.

Bob, you say the information is incorrect because it is reprinted? That hurts. What info can I trust if the MB DVD is incorrect?

I have a printed manual for MY1999, and the offset data matches what jaybro gave.

Take a look at the software version of the manual for MY1999 and look at the wheel data. The errors are obvious. The tire size for the standard wheels is given as 17" (correct), but the associated wheel size is given as 16". The width of the front AMG wheels is given as 8" (should be 8-1/2"). The printed manual does not have these errors.

Attached is a screenshot of a 1999.pdf. When this string was started I thoight he was asking about 1996 information.
