I would get rid of the bumpers, blend all the lower valences into the body
Get rid of the side molding I could not believe how clean the car looked with al the stuff of it ( getting it ready to paint) put a corvette c-5 drive tain/ engine for starters Thats me Foose would probably do something entirely differt Thats why he is Foose and I am Mike The man is an artist

No takers, huh?
OK, I'll start. For mine, which is medium blue metallic, medium blue leather interior (ripped) and 14" bundt rims, I'd do deep blue paint, modern style white leather interior (with blue LED ambient interior lighting) and 16" rims with a take-off on the bundt theme (but not chrome). And LED versions of the head and tail lights. Dual exhausts. I'm still thinking about the rest. |

Mike
Sorry yours came in at the same time as I posted. I forgot the bumpers - absolutely must lose the 5 mph bumpers. Can you do body color moldings instead of bumpers? And I agree about the side moldings and lower valences. |

Eintritt Verboten, Danke!
If you were Chip Foose....
PLEASE, CHIP, STAY AWAY from the R107 design. The spoiler boyz have no business messing with them It is a classic and timeless design, whether with euro or DOT railroad tie bumpers, euro or round headlights, 3rd brakelights or without them... Chip Foose should be left to play around with Mustangs and Camaros, customizing the bodies of cars suited to grace the pages of "Hot Rod", "Car Craft", "Super Chevy", and "Fast Fords" magazine.

I was looking for that auction lot on the 280SL - I missed it. Someday when the baby boomers all need money for nursing homes, those Vettes, Camaros, Chevelles, etc. will be sold cheaply to anyone who'll pay for them, and my generation will be chasing the AMGs, the Ms, the Porsches, and the Ferraris that we dreamed about in the 80s.
You can go here: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appstest/carlist/carlistfilter.aspx?auctionid=221 and see pics and descriptions of all the Barrett MBs coming up. It's really true, that demographics are intimately related to the value of things. For example, you can bet that the value of Beatles memorabilia has peaked.
I was shocked at that auction, too. Who would believe that hand-built cars were going for less (sometimes a lot less) than mass-produced vehicles with some options thown in? Expecially eye-popping was the price of the "tributes" or "re-creations" - cars that didn't even claim to be original. I had a 1968 Camaro. In terms of being my first car, I loved it; in terms of engineering, it was a POS then and it certainly is a POS now. An absolute death trap by today's standards. But I'm certainly jealous of the incredible wealth of reproduction parts for it. You can actually BUILD an entire 1969 Camaro from the remaining OEM and incredible number of reproduction parts, with almost any options (that you can afford). Bargain of the show, in my opinion: a 75 Jaguar XJC (2-door coupe) with small-block/turbo 350 or 400 power for about 23K. A very rare but now practical vehicle whose engine can be repaired with a screwdriver and hammer.
