I apologize in advance for this.....

I have just recently purchased my very first 1991 Mercedes 300 SL . It came without any manuals or paperwork......I don't have a clue as how to remove the hard top or which buttons operate the locks, and raise the roll bar and soft top.....can someone please advise a newbie.....thank you in advance......G

The little red button on the lower center console which is shaped like the hardtop. Push it back to open and forward to close. If the hardtop is on the car, the button releases it. You and a buddy then lift it off and set it aside for storage. Be careful not to scratch the paint with the small studs on the bottom. After the hardtop is off, pushing the button forward will activate the softtop. Hold the button continueously until the soft top locks. Once you try / see how it works you'll understand.

You can get all the manuals you need from 1-800-FOR-MERC(EDES). Get them - you'll definitely need them.

If you do any repair work of your own, call the number Len posted and order the R129 Tech DVD. It has the owner's manual and all the essential tech documentation.
