Question Body Rubber Replacement....

Any One Have An Idea About Cost Of Replacing ALL The Rubber On A 560 Sl?? I Do Not Feel Like This Would Be DIY For Me. Also, What Shocks Do Most Of You Use?

Thanks....

Performance product sell restoration kits consisting of all window door seals etc.. If I recal they were in the $500.00 range. I also sure Phil at Fast lane would be willing to put togeter a kit at the same or lower cost.

What rubber are you talking about? The seals (around windows, lights, etc.) are one thing and the bushings (subframe, control arms, etc.) are another.

The seals would be fairly easy, if detailed. I replaced the seals on the soft top and the A pillars when I replaced my soft top, and it was easy but it took some attention to detail to get things worked out and everything lined up properly. It took a couple days of slow work.

I also replaced the subframe and lower control arm bushings because the old ones were shot. That took more tools and technical information, and I couldn't have done it without some serious help from others. In the end it got done and the car now drives like a new one. The difference is not to be believed. The subframe bushings took a Saturday, the control arm bushings took a weekend, the idler arm kit took a Saturday morning.

As for shocks, mine has Bilsteins, and that's what most people seem to recommend.
