Don't neglect your suspension!
We just completed a number of jobs on the suspension of our 1982 380SL.
- replace rear springs as back end had developed a noticeable sag - replace front subframe bushings using Febi kit - full alignment Vehicle mileage is approx 110,000 miles and our baby had clearly been neglected (apart from engine maintenance) by the PO. What a difference. Wow! Before this work I had written off the W107 body as a POS compared to my W126 300SD, especially shooting along winding mountain roads. A completely different and much more agile vehicle now. Steering play, a slight pull to one side on heavy braking and wandering due to bumps or road camber have all disappeared, Now if only I could put the car on a diet and get it to lose a few 100lbs in weight I would be really pleased with it....... |

I have the same thing in mind for mine- rear springs and bushings, maybe for the front too, but the subframe is fairly new. I did replace the front swaybar bushings, and that helped.
