Mass Air Flow Sensor SL500

Recently I change my air filters, SL 500 2001, I happen to be in AutoZone and they offered 3 types paper filter, and I took the cheaper one, for no real reason, three starts later the check engine light came on. I took it to a shop the code showed Mass Air Flow Sensor/MAF. They gave me a price of $642 and $72 for installation. Now, I can obtain the part for just under a $150.

I removed the 2 AutoZone filters, I install new Mann filters, and on the second trip the engine light came back on. I am ordering a new Air Mass Flow Sensor . It seems simple to install. Seeking inputs!
