I replaced the trigger points on my 110 in May, 2006 buying thru MBz of Eugene. Total price including shipping and handling from Germany was $145.00
Thats why I nearly fainted when I saw the new price. Now thats inflation. Wish I had known, I would have bought 20 sets. What an investment.

Did you try and buy that new style set off eBay? At $99.00, it seemed like a good way to go. I would bet those Bosch kits will still be way too expensive. But you never know!

Could I have some info regarding that? Was it an old set from a newer (than Panda's) distribtor, or a new replacement?

It was a NOS set from the later model with the pigtail. Just sold for 177.??.

Yea I won it, I am hoping I can retrofit per Barri's post. I will study it for awhile before I cut and slice :) Any pointers , ideas, love to find a plug that would mate and just solder in my existing connections from my connector. It is the same part , just the pig tail added per MErcedes classic center

Splicing into wire would probably be easier than moving the points to your old bracket. You should be able to find a good quality aircraft or marine type 5 pin plug if you can't buy the mating plug socket. But maybe MB have them?

I emailed the guy before I bought them and we conversed and he told me they were in fact new, NOS, he has many items on ebay from the era all NOS, not sure where he got the stash, but all buyers were happy

OK the quest begins, I would like to find a female plug that will work with this trigger point set , anyone care to point me in the right direction, anyone with a 1973-1975 450 SL / SE / SEL part car that has one . Thanks
I'd rather splice into my wire loom than to muck these up , just in case the whole project goes south on me...:) I/ll cross post in wanted

The other option, would be to take the socket off a bad set of '72 trigger points, cut the plug off your new set and solder those wires to the '72 socket.

Then tape or use some heat shrink on the socket to make a neat job that you can still unplug when removing the distributor.

Just an idea.

Try one of the MB salvage yards. Sould not be expensive for a part they would never normally sell. Make sure the leave some of the wiring on the plug.

Graham, thought of that but I am not crazy about my current set up, the clip on the female end is broken , and I am constantly stressed about it , and Rowdie , I live in central KY , no boneyards with MB's around me , perhaps a kind lister with a boneyard full of MB's will help me out, seems to be a lot on the west coast. I know they are out there
