Steering box - '77 450SL

First timer here...
I'm told I need a steering box. I see there is a seal kit, or a box available. Is there a way I can rebuild the box myself (ie: seal kit plus gears) or should I just pop for a rebuilt one? Thanks!

they can be rebuilt , not for the faint of heart, PM me your email and I will send you the procedure.
Rebuilt is much easier, the R/R itself is tough enough . Most of the time it need seals, they sell a kit

Yep it just needs seals. Was doing the coupler, then pulled the box out to do the seal kit.
If there's a procedure for installing the seal kit, that would be awesome. I looked on the wiki-thing and nothing there. Would be nice to have an idea of how to go about it before I get started.
