Visor Clips

Is there a source or part number for the female part of the sun visor clips for the R107? This is the part that stays in the front windshield frame, not the part attached to the visor itself.

I replaced the original broken ones with eBay Specials 2 years ago and they've now failed. Are these still available from the dealer or am I going to have to get crafty and southern-engineer a solution for this? Can't be driving around with the passenger side visor flapping in the wind...

I removed my sun visors completely because of they were always flopping down in my face. I really like the clean look of the thin bow of the windshield now. Plus the visibility is improved.
I am 6'2" and always felt a bit cramped in the 107 cockpit because I like to sit high. The visor removal helped a lot.

Just my 2 cents....

I had floppy visors and then I replaced the clips which oddly didn't make them floppy at all.

OP this is what you're looking for:
Mercedes Sun Visor Clip Bamboo R107 SL 350 380 450 560 Sun Visor Holder Bracket

That's the very same aftermarket part that took a dump on me after 2 years. I'm looking for something that will last and NOT break on me. The original ones lasted 32 years.

For the time being I removed the visors. Can't say I really miss them! I certainly don't miss them falling in my face, that's for sure. Will work on a long-term solution when I have some extra time, until then, in the trunk they stay.

Damn, I just replaced mine with these. I was impressed at how much bite they have to the point where it's really difficult for me to remove them from the clip!

Here's what you might want to try instead. Take one of your clips (i'd buy 1 new one) and take it to a 3D print shop. They have these in malls. Your local community college might have one. They're sometimes called "makerspaces" .

Have one of the kids draw up the clip in CAD. Once it's drawn up have him give you the file. You can then 3D print replacements to your hearts content.
