1980 450SL Throttle Valve Switch Wire Replacement

I have a 1980 450SL Convertible that needs the wire for the Throttle Valve Switch (Throttle Position Sensor). I'm not sure the correct terminology for the part. I have attached pictures of the part I need. Any suggestions or advice is welcome.

The most readily available switch that can be adapted is the 86-91 420/560 SL/SE/SEL throttle switch. It has a wide open throttle (WOT) contact which is necessary for the 80 SL, and a closed throttle contact which will not be used. The connector at the top end will have to be adapted.
