Air Conditioning

Should the air conditioning in a 500 SL cool as quickly and get as cold as an American car? I just want to be sure before I have the a/c checked.

In my 1989 560sl the air gets cool very quickly. You probably need re-charged.

Geno,

You didn't give the year of your 500SL. I really believe that the AC units operating on freon got colder faster than after the switch away from freon. After about 10 minutes they seem to cool about equally. My 1990 300 SL gets very cold even after being converted.
