Network/systems engineer. Do all my own maintenance & modification upgrades. Real simple premise - buy the book - read the book - buy the specialized tool - do the maintenance & modification upgrades. MacGyver type personality with a couple of college degrees and half my lung capacity left from a chemical exposure incident in 1992. Motto: "If your hearts not palpitating when your working - your not working"

What do you do for a living?

Hi! Director of a school for children with severe and complex handicaps. Private school serving students ages 3 to 21 with severe cerebral palsy and neurological disorders......and we don't make nearly what the public school folks do, so that explains my 11 year old 1993 500SL that I bought on ebay after wanting a MB two-seater since I was 20 years old! That was a 40 year wait...but look at her!

Bill

Most of my work is in entertainment technology. I have a background in live theatre, in the production side doing design and operation of lights, audio, sets and costumes, stage and production management and pretty much anything to do with shows that isn't acting.

In the last couple of years I have also been working with 2 other specialists, consulting and installing lighting, sound and Audio Visual systems for museums and other permanent installations here in NZ. It seems to be a growing market (hope so!).

I think I was also one of about three people in the entertainment industry in Wellington that chose not to have anything to do with the making of the LOTR films. I wanted to see them without being involved! And i'm glad I did.

OK Must ring in here

Mechanical Maint. Yup, I work in a factory as a gen laborer. Joined the military at the young age of 17 and spent my whole tour in germany... always said someday I'd own one of those and so the day came. At 45, I got a 13 year old 300SL. Was totally fooling around on ebay when I saw this car bidding around $20k so I threw in a 'proxy bid' (just to amuse, or otherwise tease myself) surely I couldn't possibly win for the price I put in!!! "you won the bid, how would you like to pay?" WHATTTT?? I ran to the bank and showed them the car and took all of my savings to pay for half! I have NEVER made a better investment, for heart and sole, peace of mind and what a pleasure it is to drive and own this beauty Saved up a little more, bought a house in Florida and plan to move there in a month or two where I can drive her everyday)))

I own a computer services company located in the Clear Lake City (NASA) area of Houston. I supervise my two sons, who do general computer repair and networking for small businesses in the Houston and Dallas area, while I concentrate on the programming end of the business, which requires a lot of travel thru out the US on my part, in which I provide manufacturers, health care providers, and law firms with computer programs and research tools.

I'm an obstetrician, and since babies tend to come whenever they want, my time on-line does not fit any normal schedule.
I bought a '74 450SL last year (my first benz), sold it this year, and am now in an '88 560SL, which I hope I'll be able to keep even after the kids (5) start college.

Kirk, I have a digital camera but haven't figured out how to attach pics from it yet. When I try, it just lists a location on my hard drive. I'll keep trying. Thanks for your input. Your thoughts helped me with my decision to buy. BTW.. the car is dark blue with palomino interior. The PO installed these burl items: steering wheel, sunglasses holder, box under the armrest and a set of 16 inch mag rims. Perfect paint and a redone interior. The car turned 100k on the trip back and I paid 12K. I thought it was a good deal!

I host mine on my web server. This forum will host them for you, but I don't know exactly how that works. Someone else know?

Jobs...

PA state trooper.

Can retire in 9 1/2 years at about 42 years old, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay with driving a MB if I follow that route!

1998 SL500, Dark Metallic Blue with Panorama Roof, about 49k now.
