I am not sure if this is the correct forum for my question. I am looking to buy an '99 SLK320 and I would to know if enyone makes a luggage rack for the trunk. I undersdand that a heavy load may create a problem, but I am looking for something lite to be placed on it.

Thank you

We have a 1999 SLK230k at home; it replaced a 1996 model. Why would you need a luggage rack? The boot is enormous, roof up. It's big enough for two for a fortnight roof down. Pack less stuff, if you're filling the boot, you've got bigger problems...

If you really must pack your entire wardrobe, send it ahead by DHL/UPS. It costs suprisingly little. Whenever I fly, I never take more than cabin luggage; if I need more for my trip I just courier it. It never costs more than about $100. Although the best bet is just to buy your ***** when you get there and throw it away when you leave.

Better idea comes from the executive who in the heady 80's had two large houses - one here in Wellington and the other in Sydney.

He took nothing with him on the plane when he flew across each weekend, not even a toothbrush - because his entire and extensive wardrobe was an exact duplicate of the one in the other house.

That created a nice little news item about excess riches when it was discovered. Of course he disappeared in the late 80's crash and hasn't surfaced.

Wonder if he had identical MB's too!
