560sl 1988 black pearl and palomino
Over the last several weeks I had the rust removed from my 88 and had the car repainted. I know that the car was not striped from the factory but I want to stripe it and I am asking what all of you think about the stripe colors to use?

Pinstripe? Whatever matches interior color IMO. Or a darker gold. Use vinyl not paint!

I suggest Black with a GOLD pin stripe. To me it looks perfecto.
Red or even a white pin stripe on black paint - no. |

My 560 in the same exterior color and burgundy interior has one bluish grey stripe and one burgundy stripe.

I have the same color car - Black & Palomino. And my stripes are blue and gold.
I thought it was an odd combination until I found some documentation explaining that it was the prior owner's school colors. So i say do whatever colors you like, or mean something. |
