Pics of my toy

Well it's a direct link to to the page on my web site. Click on the lower thumbnails for a the full pic.

Just finished the full detail of the exterior, never again please.

Hard to believe that's a 90 with the original top and rear window.
49k, and don't think it's ever seen salt.

The pic of the top with the beading was to show what the 303 Fabric Protector does. Someone had a comment about a MB product to protect the top and made it bead up. I really like it, but MASK, the overspray is REALLY tough to remove.

Nice toy Kev. It's great to grow up and still be able to play and have great toys.

Kevin,

I think it looks great. But then again, my 90 SL is also Signal Red with a Palimino interior. I just replaced my top in the Fall. I think those wheels really look good, too.

Well the picture doesn't show the curb rash on the wheels.

They are in good, not great shape. I figure probably next year I'm going to need new tires, I'll do something with the rims then.

Repair, Replace ??? we'll see then

Yeah those wheels look really sharp!

Are they OEM wheels? Polished and clear coated I take it?

Nice car! I didn't think it was a 1990 either until I read your post and looked at the pictures more carefully (steering wheel shape)

Nice color Kevin! Very sharp... that work on the body sure paid off for this photo. We have the same wheels too.

Looking at your top down pix makes me hanker for summer so I can get out and catch some melanoma (we're coming up to winter's shortest day in a couple of days here).

Yea Holson they're OEM, but some curb rash. And one has a dent, very minor, on the bead. I think one one of the prior owners wacked a curb pretty good. The one rocker panel is cracked behind the front passenger wheel inside the wheel well.

The clear coats is pitted a little, I don't know what you'd call it. They did clean up real well.

I hope to either get them fixed up, or replace them next year. I think getting them fixed will cost almost what replacing them would.

Don't flame me, and I doubt if they make the right pattern / offsets anyhow. I'd love to get a good set of standard Cragars and BF Goodrich Radial TAs. Love that combo. Had the Cragars on several of my hot rods in my younger days, and have had the TAs on several since.
I will probably look for the TAs, I also want to upgrade to 17 or 18s and maybe stacked. We'll see how the car goes, and money and whatever as to how far I'll go.

This being my first "Toy" in 20 years I've gone a little overboard fixing and cleaning, the effort has been well worth it. It's about as close to showroom as a car with 49k on it could even hoped to be.

First was a first class go over by my mechanic, tuneup, ALL fluids flushed, all filters and a few minor misc (gas leak for one) things. Then I put in a new climate control unit, replaced the plastic around the minor, Perf Prods are PRICEY, but it had to be done. Put the top fold upgrade and a number of other misc things.

And way too much time cleaning and polishing, and cleaning and polishing, and cleaning and ... well you get the idea.

My cousin laughs, my daily is an 88 Toy 4Runner, probably been hand washed 3 maybe 4 times, might have even waxed it once or twice. I've probably spent more time cleaning the SL then I did my last 2 or three cars together. The Toy has 144k, owned since new, runs like a champ and still I think it's the perfect all around vehicle. AND I don't worry about it when driving, parking or whatever.

Thanks Ken, FYI I'll rub it in yesterday and today were almost perfect days for a convertible. Maybe on the cool edge of perfect, and I did drive it took it for a ride in the country tody, up to Wisconson to see my cousin.
