Well, I've reluctantly decided that since I picked up a "new" Turbodiesel daily driver, I should make some room in the stable. It's been a tough decision about whether or not to sell this beloved car of mine, but I feel it's best if someone would buy it and return it to it's previous state rather than me letting it sit and rot away. If I have no buyers, I will find a place in the back of the barn to keep it and maybe one day set to work on it, but for now, it's open to a new home. Here's the skinny.... Bought it in the summer of '97 and have used it extensively as my daily driver since then. I have over $12,000 (yes, thousand) in receipts for work I have done on it since then. Basically, the car is prefect mechanically but the body will require some rust repair (i.e. rocker panels, rear quarters and trunk floors). The car is Milan Brown (repainted, it was originally Inca Red Metallic), over Bamboo MB-Tex interior which is in absolutely perfect condition. The seats are perfect as is the dash, wood trim, headliner, etc... Some of the repairs include: Completely redoing the climate control system with new vacuum lines, rebuilt A/C compressor, new ACC servo, compressor switch, conversion to 134a and a new heater core. I put in a BRAND NEW ORIGINAL Mercedes-Benz radiator in it last summer ($550) and also a new set of Bridgestone Turanza H Revo touring tires. The suspension has been redone for the most part (new Bilstein shocks, control arms, etc..) and the brakes have been completely redone including a new master cylinder, NEW Ate front calipers, rotors and pads front and rear. I also put in a rebuilt cruise control amplifier last year as well. The exterior trim is in good shape and is all complete, and everything on the car works except for the driver's door window (the regulator broke only two days ago! and it's the third one I've put in it!). There is a block heater and the alloy wheels are in decent shape but could probably use a refinishing job if you're going to redo the body. The exhaust system is complete and sound (Ansa) and the floorboards are solid. This past fall I also installed five rebuilt injectors purchased from MB. The car starts and runs fine and has had religious 15K valve adjustments and 3K oil changes (Castrol GTX 10W-40). Doesn't use oil but does leak a little. I installed a new gasket between the oil filter housing and the block to stop a major leak last summer. As of last week, I also changed both fuel filters and installed a modified main filter housing. The floormats are in very good shape (original MB) as are the original carpets underneath. I removed the original Becker stereo and installed a Kenwood CD player (it's a world of difference!), which is included with the car. I also put new Bosch glow plugs in it about a month ago. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere, and matter of fact, I have driven it to Boston, Philly and numerous other distant places and have never experienced any problems whatsoever. I just feel that with the amount of rust appearing on the car, I would be better off with a nice solid example for as much highway driving as I tend to do. The paint on the car is fair but is pretty faded out on the roof and trunk (which is nice because I don't worry where I leave it parked!). If somebody with the time were to repair the rusted out metal, you'd have a wonderful machine. There are many other things I have left out of my description for time's sake but as I mentioned, $12,000 worth of work has been done to it and it does indeed perform like it should. Pity about the body. Anyhow, I'm asking $1,750 firm. You may e-mail or call me (330) 725-7469 (weekends), (513) 519-7302 (cell, anytime), (513) 924-0263 (weekdays). As they say, fly in and drive it home!

DeLorean
J.Shepardson, Yes, the DMC is for sale (anything is for a price--except maybe my 6.9) Asking $10,000. It's an early '81 with 27,000 miles on it. Automatic tranny, runs pretty good, has had cylinder heads put on it, leaks ATF and oil like a sieve. Typical DeLorean problems. Electricals work good but sometimes the blower fan cuts out, but the auxiliary fans in front of the radiator work great. I recently put a new driver's door power mirror on it and six new injector lines. The interior is black. It was originally a South Florida car, so the frame is solid. Let me know!
