Look ... I just pulled a price off this site ..

That crack looks huge in that photo but it really doesn't look bad to me in real life... almost too hard for me to see ... 'course that's blind guy talkin' though . AIN'T holdin' out for $200 either ... let the market decide ... I just wanna' dump it for any price if it helps someone AND they can use it ... got lots of other good stuff too. Cheap.

Benzbar ... no doubt you know your parts. BTW, we cracked some new ones puttin' 'em in at the dealer back in the day too ... Splittage or more splittage, as the case may be, is certainly possible with this one OR ANY OTHER ONE as well, but overall, it's still pretty good. I think I have lots of wood and the lid too.

SD ... nice car !! Can't really see your dash too well though. Ride up here with your trunk empty or bring a PU and have a look at some of this stuff. I've got window regs, black boxes, mouldings all kinds of stuff. I live in Vista now and I'll buy ya' a beer

It may be better than most dashes you've seen, but who would swap their already cracked dash for another cracked dash? No way, they're going to find one alot nicer than that to swap in. I can't think of anyone crazy enough to take the time, and pay $$$ to do that. Trash it. Sorry.

Would you swap a rusty fender for a less rusty fender? I think not.

I did, I got biodiesel300TD's dash and put it in. It was slightly cracked but much better than my blue dry lakebed dashboard. It was only $35 though.

Tell ya' what ...

In my short life I have come to realize that there are some very narrow-mind people who can't see beyond their own paradigm.

For example: Has no poster here considered that there maybe someone out there who perhaps has no dash at all? Or a very, very bad one? Without the resources for a better one? Doesn't seem like it !! To that person this horrible, expensive, worthless dashboard may be a great find. That's not you but that's MY customer. The rest of you with all the reasons why it's not any good and so forth can go suck eggs !! My advice to you people who don't like this dash is so very, very simple: DON"T BUY IT, stupid !!. Go rain on someone else's parade.

IIRC, it was very slight, correct? Much less than this one, and cheap. Did you have to ship it?

I do believe he just called us all stupid. How can someone have no dash at all? I've never heard of someone buying a car without a dash, or getting in an accident where the only damage was the dashboard. Even so, a little searching in a salvage yard could quickly yield a dash in similar condition, for pennies on the dollar of your asking price.

That's just my stupid thoughts in my narrow minded world. Sorry to keep raining on your parade.

When it rains, it pours. Stupid is what stupid does.

Wiz3D.... The point is it's not worth $200.
Twenty bucks I can see, but nothing too much higher than that.
So 3D, please don't be one-dimensional. No one insulted you, just stating the obvious.

Yeah, it had about 2 1" cracks and I picked it up, so no shipping.

My old one was in bad shape. Dashectomy

Just for reference I paid $100 for this dash from a member here. It has no cracks, and only one little blemish over the glovebox door.

Hey this is a tough crowd your selling too. Mercedes enthusiast..

But hey I also wanna sell a dash for $200... What do you all think? Or make me an offer... Shipping and handling not figured in yet.

Has cracks near passenger side speaker (which I could probably fix with a fix a vinyl kit) and a pin hole between the center vents.

Funny, yall are trying to speak reasonably with somebody who wants to be called "The Wiz". Now what pops into our minds when we see those words......
There is no punishment for asking a stupid price.
I've erased 3 different paragraphs going more specifically into what I think of instances like this. Not worth it.........
Good luck, just quit calling folks out who know what they are talking about when you clearly have no clue, and expose your shadiness with impunity......

Holy cow... The W123 tribe has spoken, eh? LOL

On another dash related note, I officially feel like a complete moron for having walked away from several unblemished W123 dash panels that I could have apparently pulled and sold. Will people really pay $200 for an unblemished black dash? I know a blue one without cracks will pull in serious eBay bids, but I never really thought that black ones were worth anything.

Well, seems like the amatuer ...

parts evaluators have spoken .... albeit not with a great deal of eloquence.

OK, I get that, BenzBar, but I'm OK with whatever the market says. How many ways need I say that I'm not interested in holding anyone up for the full amount? Geez. I don't need or want the damn thing. But read the whole thread carefully and I think you could see that.

Stuck in his own paradigm, it seems pretty apparent that the above poster and some others did not or could not read the entire thread, yet felt the need to join in with the crowd and blurt .... there are leaders and there are followers and it's obvious what he is .... had he carefully read the thread, he would know the price I put up there is just a starting point, gleaned from several other threads here. Soooo... to you, I say again: don't buy it stupid !!

Quote:

You, sir, are the clueless one, also apparently unable or unwilling to read the entire thread ... doubtful you could install a dash anyway. What this poster wants to do mostly is hear himself talk. Ok ... heard ya', dummy!! I DO like large picture of your avatar though .... suits you You know what? Don't buy it, stupid.

Nice Armorall job on the dash too, Deliv ... didn't do that to the one I have cuz I'm not sure that it's really helpful. Maybe IT will sell though... hope this lively discussion will speed it out the door. Good luck

Thank you, bgkast, this is what I was getting at .... someone out there would like to have this dash and I will help them out .... I have several pms.

Maybe one of those PMs is an infraction notice?

I think Jimmy has swapped dashes at least three times, by the way, and we both read the entire thread.

I guess I felt the need to re-iterate what everyone else is saying because it was obviously not getting through. Not noticing a crack that large is very shady, and the way the photo was taken and uploaded seems even shadier. You weren't getting it, so I was re-iterating in terms I thought you would understand.

So, you think I'm stupid and incapable an entire thread. That's fine. Usually a "starting point" price isn't 90% more than what it’s worth. The price coupled your bad description and deceptive photograph, it’s not too much of a stretch to think that someone is trying to pull a fast one. When members started calling you out on it, you made excuses, then got defensive, then downright insulting.

I think you're the one off in your own paradigm. How would you feel if you purchased this dash for $200.00 based on your initial description and small photo, only to discover the enormous crack upon arrival? You may be visually impaired, but I doubt someone can legally drive if they miss something other forum members can pick up on a 12" computer monitor with an ambiguous photo.
