FS: W124 chasis keyless remote. $50 shipped
I am thinking of configuring a Keyless remote for forum members. It will work with ALL w124 chassis, gas or diesel, as long as the existing vacuum door works. The installation is simple and takes about 20 minutes or less. It will come with all instructions, materials and pictures. All existing manual key function is intact, as well as factory alarm.
$50 shipped. Guarantee to work or your money back less shipping. PM me or reply here if you are interested. I will extend it to W126 chassis later. I need to know the interest level before I order my parts. |

What functions? |
keyless entry
Would be interested but has to be good, would be prepared to pay a bit more.
Have a W124.128 with factory alarm Quote:

I'd be in at $50. Sounds very reasonable.

I will include step by step instructions and hardware. Plus technical support. Installation is very simple and guarantee to work or your money back less postage. The lead time is about 2 weeks normally but I will be on business trip in March so the first unit will go out around March 25. It is not my intention to make a lot of profit. Just to show how easy and cheap to install Keyless Remote.
Function would be Lock/Unlock with remote. There is option to open trunk and flash the parking lights. I will give you instructions but is not easy to wire up as the control unit is installed under the back seat, quite a way from the parking light wiring. |
Could this same kit be used on a 201?
|
Not in earlier model. My 84 190D/83 300D have Keyless remote but I need to add an actuator inside the driver's door. It is a lot of work and needs above average DIY.
If your W201 can be locked/unlocked using key from trunk or passenger door then YES, otherwise NO. |
I have a euro 1990. Ill have mess with my keys and see if the trunk unlocks the car.
My US 1988 can be unlocked fully from the passenger door. |

ah-kay,
Your price is beyond reasonable...it's cheap! I'm planning on installing a keyless entry system on my 500E and the cheapest system (Viper/Bulldog) I found is around $40 + shipping. I installed a keyless entry system on my E320 when I got a discontinued Valet unit for $29. Whichever way I looked at it, your offer is way better if it's plug and play with instructions and light/horn confirmation. Let me know where to mail my payment. Thanks, Ed |
I have 3 takers so far. I will pull the trigger and order the units. I am on travel in March. I will ship them out if the units are ready before March. Otherwise I will ship them after 3/25. I take Paypal and will advise when they are ready.

What else would be needed to make a kit that works on 116's or 123's?

Still open to order.

1) W123 is easier - you need an actuator to activate the lock/unlock vacuum switch valve inside the driver's door. It is at least 1 hour work and drill a few holes to mount the actuator. 2) early w201 - Forget it. It is a lot of work to add an actuator as there is limited room. The actuator needs to pull/push the door knob, not a simple vacuum switch valve. It is a few hours work even if you know how to do it. Do not know about the W116. I would expect it to be like W123. You need above average electronic and DIY skill for W123. |
