darn support !!!

JB3 ---

That darn support got me.....using the grinder inside the wheel well was the way to go. I found the sawzall, but the blade wasn't very long nor straight. I'll get a pic posted of the piece I cut out. I had to pry up the body metal under the fuel filler and use a hammer and chiesel to break the piece free from that darn support.

Hadn't thought about the gas tank! Yeah, that definitely makes a big impact on this, thanks for doing this for me though

fuel tank; The only thing with a "gas tank" is my lawn mower. There wasn't any gasoline in the fuel (diesel) tank. I did make sure the grinder didn't get the metal RED hot though when I was cutting near the fuel filler door.

JB3 --- here is the piece I cut out for you

The bottom trunk part has issues. The wheel arch is completely intact. Can you work with the bubbles behind the arch going to the bumper?

I got the vise grips today.

What is the paint brush for? Some obscure pornographic use?

Not meaning any offense, but do people actually buy these parts in such condition? I left two identical ones at the junk yard the other weekend because the mounting pin at the center of the bottom broke off on one (it was otherwise cosmetically perfect), and the other had some minor cigarette burns on the top. Maybe I shouldn't be so picky...

Shipping is at least $15 on it; if someone wanted it and agreed to pay shipping I would send it. I've never had a 240D to part out, so I have no idea what people need/want. The console has a working emergency flasher module in it and a fader.

My guess is if some forum member's center console "top" is broken, then this might be better than what they have. Regarding the dowel pin being broken off, a forum member makes replacements!!!

Anyway.....if someone dropped by my house and wanted it, I would give it to them....it's free; just pay shipping.

Was the paint brush in a plastic bag with a napkin and a small vial of orange ish paint? It's one of daw_two's w123/w126 cluster needle paint kits ???? Remember this:

The hazard switch is worth the price since they are difficult if not impossible to find anymore.
