Parting Out w123.130 1985 300D Euro Sedan NA Non-Turbo (Fort Worth, Texas)
I recently purchased a 1985 Euro 300D here locally near Fort Worth. Car is light blue with navy interior. Has power windows in the front and manual crank windows in the rear. Pretty much everything is up for grabs. Engine runs and I will try and get video up soon. It has euro bumpers but the rear has a slight ding in it and the front has been involved in a fender bender. All glass is good aside from the front windshield. Clean and clear Texas title. VIN is: WDB1231301A213644. Pictures will be posted tomorrow.
If you are needing anything in particular please reply here. I would like to pull as I go but may go ahead and start pulling things from the interior and engine compartment and work outward from there. Part numbers or pictures of what you need are also helpful so that we are on the same page. I accept paypal or postal money order. If paying via paypal please ad 3% to cover fees that I will be assessed. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and local pickup is also available. Thanks and pictures will be coming soon. |
Will you sale the bumper side rubber trims and their metal brackets bracket separately?
I may need a few parts. Don't know prices, hoping for cheap Dibs on the center console if it is wood trim!!! I have a euro with the same set-up Everyone is gonna ask: Why are you parting this unique car?? |
Ditto on why its being parted out....
|
I am parting it to offset the cost of a couple of motor rebuilds in the works. I am rebuilding a om616 from a 1981 240D and a om601 from a 190D. I haven't had the car on a lift or jackstands but from what I can see there is no rust. Car has not been tagged since 2009. Previous owner says that he parked the car because of the steering lock/key stopped working properly. Dash is in poor shape, has a cover over it. I did somewhat of a hack job of removing the steering lock and old tumbler.
I disabled the steering lock and put in a blank tumbler and a borrowed battery from my 240D and it started right up. Drove it down the street a few blocks and returned. No smoke out of the exhaust but plenty of blowby when the oil cap is removed. With oil cap loosened it does a little dance but doesn't fall off the engine. Has a vacuum leak somewhere as it does not shut off with the key. Odometer shows 190,000 miles, have a few service records from PO but not many. In short I have too many projects and figured that someone may be looking for parts. Not trying to make a killing by any means, just help others out. |
Seems like it would be more profitable to sell it as a working and driving car....rather the to part it...

Please let me know about the shifter surround and bumper trims.
If it is rust free it would really be a better value to sell the complete car or offer the shell for deposit Post some pics! Not to be demanding, but I would highly recommend rebuilding or just tuning and driving this engine inside your 240D body. The tuned up M-pump on a euro 300 NA is fairly peppy! |
Does it have a 2.88 ratio differential? If so, I'm interested. Email sent.

Boy that car is pretty beat up or shall we say neglected.....still wish someone would save it, as I have seen worse but the color combo and lack of some favorite euro features....makes this one less rare then I thought...so parting it wouldn't be a big loss.....if I had cash....I would love to have the injection pump, one upgrade I always wanted to do on my us spec...
|
Yeah it is a bit rough. It hasn't been registered or inspected since 2009.
|
Differential on all euro N/A models should be 3.46
a little less desirable. Wash off a rim and show us; looks like a solid white line = very desirable 14x6 alloy steel-look-alike rims worth good $! Is there a spare rim too? If in excellent shape it could be worth more than the car!! Now if you have any hubcaps clips with plastic backing, you might want to send some to me for a fair price in appreciation...;) Cool German labeled auto CC in black Some folks might like the owner's manuals or other original paperwork, fuse box label in German language, vacuum headlight switch, hazard triangle or tool kit? Can I see a pic how the hitch mounts up? May want that along with bumper trims. Also save that metal license plate frame for the front bumper please. |
How much for the black plastic button plate (surround) above the climate control unit? Is the shifter surround plastic as well? Thanks

Please bear with me. I have limited internet access and the vehicle is not stored at my residence. Once I get video of it running, I will begin pulling bits off. I am also in the process of pulling my 190d engine to send to the machine shop. |

Here are a few more pictures of the hitch, plastic bits, and first aid kit. Still haven't gotten video of it running yet so haven't started pulling parts. It will be soon though. Sorry for the delay.

There are 3 pieces of plastic which go on top of the front 3-piece Euro bumper. NOT the end pieces which connect the fender to the L&R end pieces of the bumper. Those 3 pieces pretty much cover the entire top part of the front of the bumper.
Do you have those? |

On the front bumper, I was hoping for the metal brackets mentioned that brace the corners of the bumper and hold down the rubber trim. Mine are toast from rust
NEed to use alot of PB Blaster or other "break free" on the nut and slowly loosen at the correct angle or the skinny welded bolt's stem will snap off (ask me how I know....) And if they are available, I might need the same pieces along with the small corner rubber trims for the rear. Then, if the hitch will unbolt I might like to have it too. Nice that it clear the euro sized bumpers like I am using now Hope it isn't welded on. Cool first aid book. I will have to look if I have one of those or not (slightly addicted to collecting here!) |

I just need the window and the mirror switch. I forgot what switches are in the trim above the climate control though. Thanks |
Ok, m style injection pump, hard lines, and injectors are spoken for pending video. Here are a few pictures of the front and rear bumper and trim. Greazzer and NC Friend, please let me know if this is what you are looking for.
For those interested in the bumpers, the front has light rust that can be seen in the pictures from a fender bender and is missing some of the rubber on the left side. The rear has a bump from something on the left side as well. No serious rust though from what I can tell. The hitch is welded on, I actually had to cut it out of the bottom of the trunk floor to remove it because they had actually welded the nuts on. I can remove the hitch if anybody is interested in the bumpers. Still need to get video, my good battery is in my 240d and I need to borrow it to start this one. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-e...0/IMG_0451.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-N...0/IMG_0452.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-d...0/IMG_0453.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-i...0/IMG_0454.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a...0/IMG_0455.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-a...0/IMG_0456.JPGhttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q...0/IMG_0457.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-L...0/IMG_0458.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9...0/IMG_0459.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-R...0/IMG_0460.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-t...0/IMG_0461.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-i...0/IMG_0462.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-E...0/IMG_0463.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...0/IMG_0464.JPGhttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6...0/IMG_0465.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-N...0/IMG_0466.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-p...0/IMG_0467.JPGhttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D...0/IMG_0469.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B...0/IMG_0470.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-d...0/IMG_0471.JPGhttps://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6...0/IMG_0472.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-G...0/IMG_0473.JPGhttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-o...0/IMG_0474.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-2...0/IMG_0475.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-C...0/IMG_0476.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-l...0/IMG_0478.JPGhttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N...0/IMG_0479.JPG |
I have finally gotten around to recording video so everything is up for grabs now. Working on getting video uploaded, the connection that I have access to is very slow.

Vibration damper
1 Attachment(s)
I need the vibration damper off the front of the motor, it is sandwiched in between the lower pulleys and the harmonic balancer which is attached to the crankshaft.
#19a in the attached diagram It is held on by six allen head bolts which first go through the pulley, then the damper, threading into the harmonic balancer. The allen head bolts are known to be rusted and then strip out when you try to remove them. if that happens you can knock the heads off the bolts with a long air chisel. there are no threads in the damper part, it is just sandwiched between the pulley and the harmonic ballancer. Give me the pulley also, It looks like it may be a one piece unit from the diagram, either way I want it. So please send me a PM with your price for the vibration damper and pulley plus shipping to the Chicago, IL area. I think the weight should be between 10 and 20 pounds. Thanks, Ive been looking for one of these. |

if it's not rusted out at the inlet neck or mounting holes I need that too. Thanks.

I would be interested in the following:
1) Price + shipping for the rear bumper (tow hitch included) 2) Price + shipping for front & rear bumpers I think you'd be able to ship these Standard Post for ~ $40-55. |

Fuse box cover, radiator aux. fan, nearly all console trim and glovebox latch are now gone. |
Works now...
And for the love of god, if anyone buys that buzzer I will hurt them :D That engine runs better then mine....sad no one will buy the whole thing....I would love to exchange mine for it! |
...rats, I missed that "aftermarket" bit :o. I think I'll pass, then... I'm looking for a hitch, primarily.
|
Curious if the manual rear window regulators are in decent shape. Will they fit a 300TD? Not familiar with the ability to interchange them.

I will also be pulling the remaining bits from the interior and uploading photos so if there is something that any of you need please speak up. I will be off until October and plan to get most everything pulled and boxed up. The remaining items will be going to ebay shortly after. Thanks. |
I will let you know. I am still waiting on confirmation that they will fit the wagon. PM me a price if you'd be so kind.

I bought some interior parts from Jab and couldn't be happier. Fast shipping, and the parts arrived as described. Great guy to deal with. :D
|
Rear window regulators and cranks have been sold. Still have all door cards in great shape and front power regulators. Also have glass and trim available. I dropped off my 190d engine yesterday so I'd like to get this thing out of here soon. Thanks.
|
I have removed the bumpers and hangers from the car. I have began cleaning them up. I removed the hitch by grinding away the weld and have wire wheeled everything. I am going to try and remove the dent out of the chrome rear bumper and address rust issues.
I have several interior and exterior bits pulled awaiting shipment. The only thing keeping me from posting to ebay is that turbolister does not work with a mac. I will have to borrow a pc to get everything listed efficiently. I will add a Iink to my account once I have done so. |
