FS: 3.07 rear diff
Looking to sell a 3.07 rear diff out of a 83 300sd, with both axles. Just make me an offer.
Thx. |

This should work OK in my manual tranny '83 240D, right?
75% of my driving is interstate and it would be nice to be able to keep up with the Atlanta drivers. |

I honestly can't answer that question, but I'm sure some of these guys on the forum can answer it. Thx and let me know.

The RPM's would be better suited for dead flat terrain but you'd be very slow off the line and you'd have to go down to 3rd or even 2nd on some of the rather long uphill grades.

The axle shafts from a W126 are longer than a W123 and won't work. I can't comment on the differential.

W126 rear diff swap
Received word from a fellow forum member, says it will swap except the axles from the W126 are too long. Have to use your axles from the W123. Otherwise the mounts are alike.
Thanks. Just let me know. |

I would no t use a 307 with a 240d motor. I had that diff in my car which had a more powerful than the us model 300d na. It was all you wanted taking off in it. A 240 with that diff and a stick would not be a happy combo in my mind. With an automatic possibly but I doubt you could stay in fourth gear on the interstate all the time.
