190e flywheel used

I was gonna modify this flywheel to work with my swap but instead I’m gonna bite the bullet and just buy a new one from the dealer, so I’d like to get some funds to help with that bill

It will need resurfacing, but I don’t see any cracks, I will toss in the used clutch and pressure plate if you’d like
It’s a single mass
Asking $150 shipped USPS flat rate
It will be shipped out the following business day
PayPal only or local pick up

The clutch measured 8.5 inches, so roughly around 215mm

I'd really like a 240mm version for an early 6 cyl car. I'm getting a 6 speed from a c230 kompressor so I'll probably just run the dual mass untill it's done. How much is shipping to 19809?

This is a single mass, are you still interested?

Possibly. How much to ship it? That's what would tell me if I'm interested. Also is the pocket in the flywheel big enough for a 240mm clutch? I have seen some that are.

As long as I can fit it in a flat rate box(I need to run to the post office and get a box) i would include shipping with my asking

I just ran out and measured, looks like the widest disc that would fit would be 8.75” or 222.25mm (using a tape measure so allow a slight bit of human error)

This flywheel accepts the smallest but easiest to source of the three clutch sizes for MBs of the era, but it can be machined to fit a 240mm clutch.

240mm clutch kit is kinda expensive and ships from Europe unless a US distributor has stocked them recently, which I doubt.

You're welcome. The used clutch disc and pressure place can be rebuilt to whatever specs are desired for about the same price as a Sachs 240mm clutch kit shipped to the US. And with the smaller clutch the flywheel can also be cut down and lightened more than a 240mm flywheel.

What's the 3rd size? I've only seen 215 and 240mm. Do you happen to know that they use the same pressure plate bolt pattern or not? The only ones I've had apart are early 4 or 5cyl diesel/gas 6cyl and m116 v8. I'm not too familiar with the next generation stuff besides knowing the dual mass uses the shorter input. The 6 speed c230 I'm using on my om603 is a 240mm clutch dual mass flywheel. I'll be doing some towing too so I'd like the bigger clutch even after the dual mass is toast. I know I'll need to have a pilot bearing extender to match up with the shorter shaft but do you know if the pressure plate fingers end up in the same place with a dual mass and single mass setup?

228mm was used on 190e 16V and 2.6 and possibly 260E. The press plates aren't interchangeable, bolt diameters are different.

I've read that a smaller clutch disc with same spec pressure plate springs will yield higher PSI and the potential for more grab, and this is why you see racing clutches with pucks rather than a solid ring of friction material, downside being less smooth engagement for street driving. As an example look at the different product lines on this site.

Competition Clutch

I might be able to dig up the parts to verify the question about dual-mass/single-mass compatibility. There's also a conversion flywheel available from Rennsport.
