W123 280TE Euro Green/Green- Parting out

I have, what was once a really cool car, that i am parting out. 1979 280TE wagon, euro spec. M110, auto trans, no sunroof, manual windows, manual climate control. Looks like it was originally Nickel Green over green velour, but someone resprayed it cypress green at some point. Story is, the car was running and driving, and the owner parked it in his shop to begin restoring it due to rust, and never touched the first bolt on it. It sat for ~15 years in a shop. I would have saved it, but the rust is unbelievable. Rockers, floors, even the front and rear windshield channels all the way up to the top. Most of the suspension can be seen from sitting in the driver seat. I can push the windshield out without even tampering with the seal due to how weak the metal flange is

Anyways, pictures below, although i apologize, a lot of the "desirable" parts that can be seen are gone. Here's what i can think of that i have sold

-Wheels/Hubcaps
-Euro bumpers (Still have the rubbers for the front bumper)
-Factory euro hitch
-Both taillights
-Green third row
-Becker radio
-A/C & Fuel lines

And i may be missing a few things.

The headliner is pretty nice other than a tear at the back which can barely be seen in one pic. The door cards aren't in the best of shape (Faded) but the rear green ashtrays are great. All glass is good other than the front windshield. The whole m110/trans is available, it does turn over but other than that the condition is unknown. Odometer says ~180k, but we all know how erratic these are.

Feel free to ask any questions and availability of certain parts, i've got some down time on my hands at the moment so i should be able to ship parts pretty rapidly. Located in Northeast Louisiana

Thanks!

Crying shame.

Northeast Louisiana?

Seems like it was such a cool car that if someone had a decent wagon body to transfer all this to, it could be a worthwhile effort to save this wonderful machine.

Correct- and added that to the OP, thank you

I agree. Bad enough when a bland US spec 300d gets left to die, but this was a really, really cool car at one point. The poor respray is sad too, the original color is so sweet with the matching interior.

I want to save as much of the m110 wagon specific parts as possible, i know someone out there could put them to good use.

More Sad pictures of how far gone it is. The rear is just as bad, simply removing the taillights brought a lot of body with them.

Have you tried to get it running? Mechanical Parts from running cars are always worth more.

I haven't. 3 plug wires are chewed by rats I suppose, and obviously the fuel is toast being as old as it is. I have bumped it over with the starter and it sounds healthy turning over.

Understandable, as is the issue with others interested in the engine. One guy in SoCal, and one in Alaska currently. Freight would be pretty steep. I believe i freight'd a OM616 last year for a guy, LA to AZ was around $450 IIRC.

Looking for 3 things:

1. Driver's side door pocket. I can see that the passenger side door pocket is broken but would you happen to still have the driver's side door pocket? If so, is it broken too or in good condition?

2. Do you have the front passenger side carpet?

3. Do you have the plastic trim peace that goes on the inside of the passenger side seat? See picture for an example. Looking for one in green, obviously.

My apologies, my email used to update me with posts, but it hasn't been lately.

1.) The driver side door pocket was also in puzzle pieces, unfortunately. The Ashtrays in the rear are in great shape surprisingly though

2.) I will check when i get back from out of town, but i think it was pretty rough. Cannot confirm

3.) I will also check on this. I want to say it was complete and in good shape

I haven't. It turns over by hand fine, and i've bumped it over with the starter a few times and it seems OK. A lot of the ignition wiring is chewed by rats, and i would rather just sell it as-is. The prev owner told me it was running and driving just fine when it was parked, and it was parked in hopes of repairing the rust one day and having his son drive it. That never happened, it was in a shop for 10+ years, and that shop recently had the roof ripped off by a hurricane. Which in turn, made the city demand the building be fixed ASAP, or torn down. He chose the latter, and the car ended up being for sale since he had no where to store it anymore

Great! Thanks!

I also have a couple other things that I need if you don't mind checking for me:

4. The driver's side under dash panel. The one that goes underneath the steering wheel.

5. The 4 little green vinyl inserts that go in the manual door handles.

Thanks!
