I have a metal factory w126 skid plate for sale. It is in good condition and came off of a 1990 300SE. It will probably fit other gas cars and possibly a 603 engine vehicle. It does not fit the 300SD with the 617 due to the lower sump pan.

These are very rare and the last time one went up for sale they were asking $200.

$50 and it is yours. All hardware included. I can send pictures to those interested. Pickup in the DC area or shipping at your expense. It is bulky.

You brought up an interesting thing about it not fitting all W126 models. There were 2 versions made, one that extended to the radiator portion and a shorter one. I wonder if one was made with the 300SD in mind.
